There are enthusiasts for whom the cold weather is not a deal-breaker for skating in winter; a dry track is only requirement. It has become common the practices to start in May and everyone of us wants more and more speed skaters to appear in the new season. Therefore in April, Snails & Cheetahs Team have arranged 8 free introductory speed and endurance training sessions for everyone who wants to get more familiar with this sport.

The guests improved their fitness, learned very basics of speed and endurance skating, as well as performed the most important exercises both with and without skates. As expected, the skating at various paces, engaging skating in the pack with leader change, as well as some of racing elements, were the most enjoyable part of every session.

Trainings took place every Tuesday and Thursday and lasted ~1.5 hours. Although it was April, the weather was pretty nice. It was not possible to avoid the rain for just two days, so they were spent doing strength and stretching exercises on the steps of the Vingis Park Stage. 11 to 18 guests attended other six sessions in the stadium of St. Christopher Gymnasium.

Enthusiasm of participants and great feedback make the team think about making these training a tradition.
